RHS CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW - MEDAL WINNER
ZAP ARCHITECTURE COLLABORATED WITH CELEBRATED GARDEN DESIGNER ‘DIARMUID' GAVIN’ ON THE HARRODS GARDEN AT CHELSEA ROYAL HOSPITAL IN SUMMER 2016
‘A WHOLE LOTTA FUN’
This entire project was inspired by the legacy of Heath Robinson (famous Victorian cartoonist and inventor) who illustrated surreal, inefficient and ‘fun’ inventions just for the hell of it. This is what brought ZAP’s Pol Gallagher and the cheeky gardener Diarmuid Gavin together to form an alliance on behalf of Harrods - Knightsbridge. Harrods wanted a whimsical ‘British Garden’ and Pol + Diarmuid wanted something that captured the publics’ imagination and surprise. The ‘British eccentrics Garden’ was a sight to behold - merging playfulness with high quality composition and a big dollop of fun.
